About Yassmin Sanders

Yassmin was born in Aden, South Yemen, to mixed Arab-Welsh parentage. At the age of nine she returned to the British Isles but continued to travel to the Middle East throughout her teenage and early adult years. She has been heavily influenced by both Celtic and Islamic Art.

At the age of 21 Yassmin purchased her first houseboat in Uxbridge, Middlesex and her passion for a life afloat continues to this day - she currently lives aboard a Dutch Barge on the River Medway with her husband, Ian and cat, Fatboy George.

In 1993 Yassmin decided to realise her passion for decorative art by starting her own glass painting business and has recently branched into mosaics and sculpture.

Whilst continuing to create works of art, Yassmin has also been studying for a BA in Archaeology, a subject that continues to inspire her artwork and fire her imagination.
